HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!
By now, it is January 1st, 2023 and you know it’s time for bloggers to write their end of year posts, reflecting on 2022 and what they accomplished, etc. This post is pretty much the same as well except I also want to highlight things I didn’t quite accomplish last year. I was feeling pretty…meh on new years eve and didn’t get a chance to post this. However, it’s a new year and I wanted to kick off my blog by reviewing last year.
So….that Anime Challenge
I know, I know I didn’t quite finish my ‘2022 Anime Challenge’ where I was supposed to watch the Top 100 Anime from my scratch off poster. Taking full responsibility, I severely underestimated by ability to get sidetracked. While I did finish a few more shows, I just never posted to reviews on them. So, you’d never know I even finished anything. Plus, I got absorbed into all the new and shiny shows. Again, It’s my fault but it is my goal to finish it in 2023. A stretch goal is to finish this mid way but I will 100% finish this list by the end of 2023.
So…Giveaways? Merchandise?
Another goal was to try to increase interaction and I have to say I actually was interacting with a lot more bloggers and content creators without doing giveaways or anything. I do want to do them but I want to be smart about it. I do want to thank everyone that I’ve collaborated with last year and helped me to reach new viewers.
2022 Year in Review
We can all agree that 2022 was a monster year in terms of new shows and comebacks. A lot of you have read everyone’s ideas on who was the top show or manga of the year but I wanted to give my thoughts as well. I was introduced to a lot of new shows this year (again you might not know since I didn’t post my reviews in a timely fashion) but I watched a looooot of stuff.
If this is your fist time, I like to talk about my favorites of last year as well as include a top 10 list.
Favorite Anime of 2022
This was really hard, even harder than last year. I don’t know what the studios were doing last year but they went insane. After making tournament style lists, I was able to finally come to my number one pick. My favorite anime of 2022 is Aoashi. I’m just a sucker for emotional sports shows, especially soccer. The storyline, the animation, the 9 and 10/10 episodes each week, I’m just excited for the next half. It is a show I’ve been talking about for most of last year and encourage my fellow sports fans to give it a try. There’s also my top 10 and they are in no particular order.

- Aoashi
- Dance Dance Danseur
- Spy x Family (Both parts)
- Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War (Part 1)
- Chainsaw Man
- Komi Can’t Communicate (Part 2)
- Kotaro Lives Alone
- Sasaki and Miyano
- Ya Boy Kongming!
- Mob Psycho III
Favorite Manga of 2022
Last year I was a little relaxed with manga. I didn’t read as much as I should’ve and most of them were just continuations from the year before. Another goal is to definitely read more manga. Luckily, I do have enough to still make a top 10! My favorite however was I Think Our Son is Gay. It’s just such a cute read and it’s not even super long. Basically, this woman talks about how she suspects her eldest son might be gay and she’s just observing his interactions and changing emotions. She’s already decided she fully supports him but she doesn’t want to overwhelm him or out him. If you’re looking for something heartwarming and you know, not every third character being murdered, this is a good way to go!

- I Think Our Son Is Gay
- Sweat and Soap
- Blue Flag
- Mission: Yozakura Family
- Spy x Family
- Boys Run The Riot
- Chainsaw Man
- Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible
- Jujutsu Kaisen
- Love Is An Illusion
Favorite Game of 2022
Last but not least, I was able to play more games than last year. Most of them were indie but I’m just very selective when it comes to games. I mean, it can be a lot of time to put into a game so I don’t like to play 40 hours and feel nothing at the end. Overall, my favorite game I played last year was still Our Life: Beginnings and Always. I know, boo me all you want but I can’t lie that game is still amazing. There were new packs released and even though it’s finished, there’s a sort of spin off being released as well. As I said before, I will always be biased towards games with customization. Everyone subconsciously puts themselves in the MC’s shoes so why not include that in your game as well? There were a ton of amazing indie games I played too so I actually have a top 10 this year.

- Our Life: Beginnings and Always
- College Craze
- Witchy Life Story
- Night Shade: You’re the Drug
- BURIED STARS
- Left on Read
- Tailor Tales
- Nursery School Diaries
- My Love for you is Evermore
- High School Daze: Junior Year
I do have one big goal for my blog but I’m actually going to keep it to myself. Other than that, it’s the same as last year; to make more connections and get more readers! I sincerely thank everyone who has supported me in some way last year. Here is to 2023!
