Summary

After finally adopting a child, the Sonoyamas were unprepared for the mystery that would soon unravel. Hitori seems to be the perfect son for his loving parents. He’s handsome, intelligent, and grateful for his new lavish life—but he has a dark secret. Hitori is actually the twins Migi and Dali pretending to be one boy. And they have a terrifying motive behind their hidden identity.

MAIN Characters

Dali

Described as ‘logical and precise child’. Dali is the twin most focused on his vengeance and instructs Migi to act stealthily like a good boy, but at times, he can lose his composure. Dali is highly protective of Migi; if anyone messes with Migi, Dali may resort to violent methods.

Migi

He is the more emotional of the twins and unlike his more serious and manipulative identical twin brother Dali, he is gentle and sometimes tends to get distracted from the goal. He has a richer, smoother expression. His dominant hand is his right, which is what his name means.

My Thoughts & Conclusion

Migi & Dali was one of the most enjoyable shows of the previous season that I had a chance to watch. Growing up, I loved Clue. I loved reading mystery books and I still try to guess who the perpetrator is on Law & Order: SVU. I say all of that to say this show had me tuned in from beginning to finish. Then, you add the extra layer of the character’s quirks and silliness it was all so entertaining but you never forgot about the plot. Essentially, the twins are masquerading as one person in order to get adopted and reside in the town their mother turned up dead in. The premise is them basically attempting to live a normal life while secretly investigating the motive of their mother’s death as well as the culprit. Along the way we meet a colorful cast of characters who the twins must decide are either trustworthy or suspicious.

Now, I’ve seen several mentions of ‘Haven’t You Heard I’m Sakamoto?’ and how the characters give off similar vibes of goofy and extra. Personally, I’ve never seen the show (it’s on the never-ending list) but let me tell you if this is a taste of what is to be expected then I’m already a fan. The show blends together the perfect romance of drama and comedy, creepy and heartwarming, serious and jovial. Initially, I did complain about the episode count, however, rewatching it gave me a new perspective. It wasn’t too dragged out nor was it rushed. Everything just fell into place at the right time. In 13 episodes you’re able to see the essence of these characters and care for them. It’s hard to capture all of that in just 13 episodes sometimes, and to do it nearly flawlessly?

Also, I’m a huge fan of twins. I’ve always wished I was a twin because I would 100% be swapping every day. As I said before, the show also gives me a little bit of JoJo vibes with the comical and over-the-top antics. Some shows come off as try hard when attempting that comedic style but when done right such as with this show? It’s a masterpiece and I highly recommend watching!
